The Hour

London, 1956: In the claustrophobic studios of Alexandra Palace, the BBC are launching ‘The Hour’, a new current affairs television show. At the heart of the programme are three contrasting news journalists: enigmatic producer Bel Rowley, a spirited woman in man’s world; her best friend, Freddie Lyons, a brilliant and passionate reporter, and a charming, well-connected front man in Hector Madden. As Lyons moves to cover a significant but controversial breaking story, the trio begin an intense interplay of politics, ambition, and romance, ignited by a mysterious murder and a chilling conspiracy.
